Obituary
As I’m sure no one recalls, there once was a sweater called Ribby:
But Ribby was never a true sweater. She never got worn and she never got a zipper sewn in. And she was knit out of the wrong kind of yarn. It was decided that she needed to be sacrificed for the greater good of unfinished projects made out of her left-over yarn… that were running out of yarn:

This is a happy scarf that loves to be knit out of this yarn. And so… it began. First the sleeves were removed and then the unraveling began:

We are going to think of her as an organ donor. Giving life to another project. And really, the yarn will be happier as a scarf than just sitting in the back of the closet. But still… sniff, sadness. Ribby was a lot of work.

Lucy,
I think you made a good choice. Recycle that yarn into another project. It was a learning project. When I get a loom project that doesn’t work, sigh, I have to cut it off and pretty much waste the yarn or let it sit on the loom until inspiration strikes. Weavers call them a dog on the loom. Have no idea where that phrase came from.
Love,
Mom
