Some knitting pictures

I finished knitting Calorimetry - a headband/ear-warmer (yarn is Patons SWS in geranium color). It is quite lovely to wear. I needed a model for it and it just isn’t J’s color. So… the dog got the job. This picture is the wide-eyes just before the shake-down. It worked as a nice neckwarmer since it slid down instead of flying off like she expected:

And here it is sans dog:

Next up is my first pair of adult socks. Mom started the cuff ribbing for me over Thanksgiving and sent me back to Seattle with the yarn (Louet Gems Opal merino wool in Mourning Dove) the needles (size 2 DPNs) and a basic sock pattern. I finished the cuff ribbing and bongled my way through the heel turn. I read the pattern wrong at the top of the heel gusset (which I pointed out for everyone to squint and see). But, I decided to just keep going and and all will be fine. :) I’m hoping to get this first sock finished by the time the baby arrives. Just another inch or so and I can start the toe. Non-knitters may ask “Why would you knit a sock?” I don’t have the answer. Um… because I can?!?

OK, Lost is about to start. Sigh… I wasn’t going to start watching again when it started after its hiatus. I’ll give it one more episode and if it doesn’t make the cut, its getting its pink slip. For real this time!

Lucy,

Nice job on your first sock. :) You will love wearing them. If you like the challenge of socks, I’ll get more yarn for you. I’m impressed too how you could get the black arrow on the photo.
