When the lights went out in Seattle…
Four nights, and four days… no power… below 30-degree temps:
Down the street from us we had this:

The power came back on Monday night for us. Some people still don’t have power and have been told they won’t get it before next Tuesday. Seriously? That is like a week and a half with no power. The infrastructure in this city is not the greatest… don’t get us started. Anyway, we are glad to be home and warm. And blessed to have generous friends who let us crash on their couches, take warm showers, and eat their food. Fortunately they let us bring the dog with us so we didn’t have to leave her in a freezing cold house in the dark all alone ![]()

There is no substitute for good friends. Thank goodness Jesse and Phil had power and could share their house with you. Good friends are priceless.
