Lucy’s Crafty Thoughts

One of the first things we did when we moved to Seattle was go shopping for couches! In our living room, we seriously have 2 chairs behind a coffee table we sit on. Sadly, the couches would take 8 weeks to arrive putting them at the middle of September. But we got a call that the couches were in and could be delivered Saturday! For real? Something arrives EARLY? Holy cow! This prompted a swift trip to Sears to buy the vacuum cleaner that I keep saying we need. Might as well not put a new couch on carpet covered in dog hair! So tonight we will be taking apart the living room, moving furniture, and vacuuming! I can’t wait to have something comfy to sit on and lay down on while watching TV.

I ran the new vacuum for a few minutes today. I didn’t do the whole rug under the dining table, just enough to see if it was getting dog hair up. Isn’t this picture gross? We love our dog… but not her hair…

I know, gross, right?

OK, fast forward to Saturday. I didn’t finish my posting on Friday. The couches arrived! And they were the right shape and color - woo hoo! They are a bit big for the living room, but that is OK. It will be nice to stretch out. And each of the end seats reclines. They are beige (I think the actual color is “Stone”) microsuede. Which is basically polyester that looks and feels like suede, but anything can wipe off. We’ll see if that holds true Fortunately our dog doesn’t jump on furniture. But we can’t speak for future kiddo mishaps. We’ll see how that warranty works out I guess!

The couch is actually 4 seperate sections: the two love seats, the corner piece, and a single seat. So this way, we can re-configure for wherever we go next!
