Lacey Scarf Saga
First, a snapshot of the spring blossoms on the shrub off our back patio. I love spring flowers:

In knitting news, I’ve been working on the Elizabeth I scarf pattern from Knitpicks. I seriously don’t understand any of their yarn/needle recommendations both in the pattern and on knitpicks’ website. I bought a skein of the Alpaca Cloud. There is no way I that I can see to knit the full repeats in the pattern with any of the needle sizes or yarn they recommend and get the size they say you will. I’ll post pictures later of the Alpaca Cloud using size 2 needles. I dug in my stash and had some left over yarn that is fingering weight. It is wool/camel blend. I did 2 repeats of the Dainty Bess pattern (instead of 3 that the pattern states). I am using size 3 needles. It is 7 1/2″ across, un-blocked (supposed to be 8″ finished block if you do all repeats). Here is what it looks like:

I’m pleased with how it looks
But I think I’d call Alpaca Cloud “cobweb” weight. And the scarf certainly won’t look like the picture if you use AC. I’ll post more later with the Alpaca Cloud scarf…
But, I HAVE enjoyed following the charts and seeing the pattern pop out! I hopefully will be done with this by the fall to be able to use it ![]()
