Big Bag and Super Bowl

A few of us from our knitting group are going to knit the Buttonhole Bag (from Mason Dixon Knitting). We ordered Sierra yarn from KnitPicks. Last week we used a swift and ball winder and wound all the yarn and this week we will start knitting the bags. I’m making two bags - one big one for me and a regular one for a friend who asked me to make her one. So I went ahead and made my big bag. Here it is, pre-felting. It used 4 full skeins of Sierra. To get the full perspective on its size, I included the dog :)

The one I will be making for my friend will be in Charcoal and Cranberry.

DH and I survived the Superbowl. We had everyone over who we did our “Moocher vs SugarMama” fantasy football league with. It forced us to clean the place and tidy up our sprawl of stuff. We made beer brats and grilled them with some burgers. And everyone brought food. And we all stuffed ourselves and felt fat… but it was soooo yummy. It also reminded me (really, I hadn’t forgotten), that our living room is tiny and the seating/furniture situation is so sad. Less than 6 months til we move and can buy some real couches! Woo hoo!

I woke up this morning thinking it was the weekend and I could sleep in. And then I realized my alarm was going off - how strange!?! Oh. right. It is only Tuesday. Dammit!

[...] While my uber-dork husband is chatting to some guys in Great Britain while racing them on his new XBOX 360…. I decided to take some pictures of my felted/finished Big Buttonhole Bag. And, I included the dog again so you can compare it to this previous post. And, since all dog owners speak for their dogs… I will commentate on the series of snapshots from my dog’s perspective. “oh, we’re doing this again? hurry up, you’re making me nervous.” [...]
