Brrrr!

Ok… I’m a wimp. It got down to 35-degrees last night and we turned the heat on for the first time. My friends back in Austin are reminding me of how great the weather is down there… but I don’t need reminding ;)
I actually had a rather eventful weekend! Friday evening DH and I went to Kellogg’s TG (it is a TGIF party in the atrium of the Kellogg building with beer and music usually sponsored by some club). Then a group of us went to Dave’s Italian Kitchen for a late dinner on a drizzly evening. Yummy food and wine!

Then Saturday morning I got up at the butt crack of dawn (not really… it was 7am) to go to the DMV to get my drivers license and register to vote in Illinois. The DMV was next door to a JoAnn’s so after the 3-hour ordeal to get my license I decided to treat myself to some crafty shopping. Nice. Then Saturday afternoon we watched Purdue kick Notre Dame’s ASS! Woo Hoo!! Then we went to a tailgate and went to the Northwestern vs. Ohio State game that night. I was so glad I dug out a hat and some mittens!! Even though we were with a bunch of grad students, we still rushed the field after NU beat OSU in overtime. So by the time we left it was past midnight, freezing, and a 2 mile walk home.

Then Sunday I had grand plans to get up and clean. Didn’t happen. So instead I got up and had a late breakfast. My college roommate was in Chicago for a wedding on Saturday so she drove up Sunday mid-day and we went to lunch and then found some cheap wine glasses for me. Then we sat around and chatted and she headed back to Indianapolis.

Then I called up GoodFriend in Austin and we chatted for awhile - usually we end up chatting sporatically online during the day. So we talked on the phone for almost an hour… so much to say! And my sister called and we talked for another hour.

…and then I finally SEWED! Making a whole bunch of half-square triangles for the Quitlt U. class that I’m taking. And watched some cheezy made-for-tv movie (with that dude from Party of Five) about some Greek mythology story involving Jason and a golden fleece. Maybe some of my more liberal-artsy friends can fill me in… we didn’t learn about that stuff in engineering school!

I can’t wait for Autumn! Yay!
